The first shipment of arms to Norway under the American military aid program arrived today in Oslo. The government kept secret the delivery details and plans for distributing the weapons to Norwegian forces amid ongoing Allied support.
Former Missouri governor Phil M. Donnelly announced he will not seek the Democratic nomination for U S senator. He said he has no intention of filing and has heard speculation but will not pursue candidacy, speaking from his Lebanon home.
Commerce official reports 1939 to 1947 progress across the ten state Missouri Basin under the Pick Sloan plan. Manufacturing workers rose from 27 to 45 per 1000, a 76 percent gain versus a 33 percent national rise. Despite growth, farming remains the main breadwinner at 27 percent of basin income in 1947, with trades and services at 25 percent.

President Truman signed a multi billion dollar housing bill expanding federal loans and guarantees for housing and turning about 150 war built projects over to state and local authorities. The cooperative plan was rejected by Congress, removing a $2 million program for non profit housing.
