The House approved the administration social security measure aimed at creating old age pensions and unemployment insurance, financing by 2.78 billion dollars in annual taxes. Crown Point Indiana April 19 AP Ralph E Harwood 23 of Hammond was before Judge William J Murray on a robbery charge. His sentence was suspended and he was paroled after Edward Singleton 43 who served four years in prison asked mercy for the youth. Singleton, a war veteran recently freed after a 10 year term, urged leniency saying he bears no grudge. The judge parole him to Singleton under parole officer supervision.
