Four Die As Airplane Crashes Into Power Line In Jersey City

A Canadian Colonial Airways transport flying from Albany to Newark struck a 132000 volt power line near a Public Service Electric plant and burst into flames. Four died instantly likely from electric shock. the pilot John Salway and three passengers were identified as Henry De La Vaulx 60 Paris. Mary E Williams 27 Providence RI. Arthur V Conklin Huntington NY. and John Salway Albany NY. The plane descended through fog to Jersey City’s Journal Square then to Hackensack meadows before the crash. crowds watched as the craft skimmed roofs about 100 feet high. Rescue efforts were hindered by heat. authorities confirmed the high tension line failure cut power to much of Hudson County. Weather updates warned of low ceilings and poor visibility prior to departure.

Bass confesses to Pearman murder in Boone County

Dr. Bass, 85, in Benton County jail confession details a planned insurance fraud murder of Bill Pearman. He says gunmen helped transport the body to Gravette Arkansas and back to Columbia, with police alerted only after a body was found and a forged Folta insurance scheme uncovered. Arrest Two as Auaopted in Clerk's Death

Julien Gallagher and Marvin Sisson of Warsaw Virginia were held by police in Arlington National Cemetery area on murder of Miss Afary Baker a government employee aged 20 Sisson faced murder assault charges while offering an alibi and undergoing verification Gallagher arrested in Richmond based on information from Sisson Commonwealth Attorney William Gloth led interrogation and chase knowledge of the case.

Rioters kill six at Chittagong armory attack near Calcutta

In Calcutta area unrest spread as about 100 Indian nationalists attacked the police and railway armories near Chittagong across the estuary. One Sergeant Major, one Anglo-Indian and four Indians were reported slain. trains derailed and lines cut as authorities tightened security citywide.

Pay Robbery at Eads Bridge Strikes Payroll Load

Three assailants robbed a $2,000 Mississippi Service payroll at the east approach of Eads Bridge in St. Louis while officers were transporting funds to Easb h St. Louis for laborers. Victims were George Cutterer and Edward Fogarty. Suspects fled. several relatives mentioned in the report.
