Woman Dies In Ninth Floor Fall In St Louis Office

Prison Break Slaying at Sing Sing Ends in Capture

Jefferson City Cub Scouts Hobby Show Set for April 25 26

The third annual show will be at the Junior High School with planning meetings tonight. Cecil Morrison announced that leaders will attend a regional meeting in Columbia later this month. E. H. Winter chairs the attendance committee and Charles B. Gillespie will present a dramatization on scout finances. Arthur Schuck of the national council will give principal addresses. Capital City scouts launch a five meeting training institute Wednesday at the NYA assembly room. Speakers include F. F. McKinnon on sponsor troop committee ties C W Hopkins and C B Keane on master troop committee ties. Forrest Stith will lead a panel. The institute is directed by William Seeker.

Axis columns crossed the frontier into Egypt aiming for Salam after capturing Bardia 10 miles inside Libya. Airport News From Hob Debs and Local Flyins

Junior Gray a former Jefferson City resident stopped over at the airport during a dual cross country tour while taking a night training at the St. Louis School of Aeronautics. Bob Luther of Borger visited the airport twice this weekend en route to Bloomington Indiana flying a Monocoupe then refueled yesterday in a Spartan plane. Luther said he traded ships in Bloomington. Dallas Stone will be the first student in the present program to take a dual cross country trip slated to depart tomorrow with constructor Dave Horn for visits to Mexico and Boonville. Rain halted flight operations today as Chief Flight Instructor John Randolph reported all ships ordered into the hangar before noon when hail and rain fell and a wind change was expected threatening further flying today.

Spreading Woods Fire Endangers Farms and Schools

A large woods fire spread across Butler County damaging nearly half of a 14,000 acre wild turkey preserve. Firefighters used back firing to halt the blaze as winds drove flames across roads, threatening farms and schools. Officials noted most blazes were incendiary in origin, with the preserve operated by the state conservation commission and the U S Forest Service.
