Explosion damages home of federal agent in Queens
In Elmhurst Queens an early morning dynamite blast rocked the home of William Geisler a Justice Department agent on confidential investigations. Windows were broken in 15 nearby houses and a porch ripped from the dwelling. No injuries were reported and Geisler family slept through the blast as police suspected dynamite.

A joint meeting of the Jefferson City Kiwanis Agricultural Committee and Cole County farmers approved a cooperatively run 4-H corn club program. Leading farmers will organize clubs of at least five youths aged ten to twenty-one, each growing one to three acres of certified seed corn. Washington April 11 AP A complete program for a large transportation regation agency under the commerce department has been prepared by Secretary Roper and presented to President Roosevelt The plan consolidates administration of the Interstate Commerce Commission into a new federal transportation division while retaining the ICC as a quasi judicial body The division would be led by an assistant secretary with four director headed units covering land transportation waterways aeronautics and communications The proposal also contemplates moving weather and other bureaus to new divisions including maps surveys and naval observatories The bureaus of foreign and domestic commerce the census and the bureau of fisheries would form another division along with the mines moving to the interior department The plan awaits presidential decision and likely Congressional action.

Hoboes Driven From Train Before Texarkana Wreck
A Cot ton Belt Railroad special agent saved about 60 hoboes by chasing them from a freight train at Big Sandy Texas four hours before 19 cars derailed near Texarkana. A broken switch caused the wreck and the oncoming wrecking crews from Commerce and Texarkana cleared the line.
