Washington April 10 AP Unanimous approval by the Senate Agriculture Committee for the Dies Silver Farm Relief Bill. It would have the government take control of the silver supply and allow silver from foreign sources at a 25 percent premium over world price in exchange for surplus American farm crops. The House previously passed the measure. In other action the Senate rejected a tax rise proposal by Senator King. The House defeated a Republican effort to bar political appointments in the Homeowners Loan Corporation. The chamber debated the Taylor Grazing Bill, and the Senate Banking Committee adopted a provision to regulate broker dealer activities. Speaker Rainey said Roosevelt would not approve the Frazier Lemke farm mortgage refinancing bill, though signatures accumulate to force a House vote. The plan would issue securities refinancing mortgages at 1.5 percent principal and 1.5 percent interest. The petition has 130 of 145 signatures to trigger House action.
