Deaths notice for Barbara Mohr in Jefferson City region
Barbara Mohr died yesterday at her son’s home on Highway 54 South after four years bedfast. Born October 2, 1862 in Cole County to Nicholas and Margaret Schubert, she outlived her husband by 32 years and was a Tri Lutheran Church member. Survived by seven children Edward John and August of Jefferson City, Mrs Fred Nieman of Kansas City, Mrs Ezra Connell Lohman, Mrs John Kirchner California Mo., Albert Mohr Denver, Colo., 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and sister Mrs Anna Beck of Walla Walla Wash.

ET St Clair Dies in Arizona Former State Auditor Aide
ET St Clair, aged in his early seventies, a former employee of the State auditor's office, died this morning in Florence Arizona. He left here about a year ago for the West because of health. He was a member of the First Christian church and its board. Survived by four daughters living in Arizona. Funeral planned for Thursday in Fayette.

Mrs Catherine Gallivan Dies in St Louis
Mrs Catherine Gallivan died in St Louis from complications after a hospital stay. She had lived with her son Joseph in St Louis since 1944 after leaving Jefferson City. She belonged to St Peter's Catholic church Daughters of Isabella Council of Catholic Women and Royal Neighbors. Funeral services planned for Wednesday in Sedalia.

H 5 (Dick) Johnson a Brookfield banker and merger figure in North Missouri died in his sleep on his 70th birthday. He led Security State Bank and Citizens Bank of Browning, once worked for Missouri treasurer, chaired Linn county Democratic committee, Honorary colonel on Gov. Forrest Smith’s staff, chief clerk of the state Parole Board 1932-1936. Survivors include wife, daughter Mrs. Dorsey, two brothers, and a Kentucky sister-in-law. Funeral set for Wednesday.

George L. Taylor, 76, of Fulton, died from injuries after being struck by a car as he stepped into the road Thursday. He was brother of Dr. H L Taylor. Surviving are son Riley Taylor of Marshall, brother James Taylor of New Bloomfield, and sister Mrs Beulah Ryan of Mozdo. The driver said Taylor suddenly stepped into the path of the vehicle.

Mrs Carlisle Burton 70 died today at her daughter Mrs Anna Mae Burton 508 Jefferson Street after a year in the city from Richmond Kentucky. Born February 17 1860 in Richmond she was a Christian church member and survived by husband Arthur Burton. Services will be held in Richmond.

Russia Proposes Return Of More Japanese POWs
Tokyo reports that the Soviet Union offered to return about 4000 additional Japanese prisoners of war. MacArthur's HQ said the Russians claimed 95,000 remaining were sent back but that a large number still had not been accounted for. Since then, the Russians have returned nearly 5000 more.
