Jasperites Excel at Carthage Fair Exhibits
Jasper residents swept the Carthage fair with every exhibit earning a ribbon. Frank Gulick collected 109 premiums as winners include Eva Marie Schott for prettiest baby, C. E. Wright for draft mare second place and money, M. N. Miller for coach stallion first prize, and N. H. Patterson for standard bred colt first money among others.

Justice Court Notes Labor Debt Suit Outcome
A suit brought by William Patterson against Mrs Evaline Lamey to recover a six dollar labor debt was tried in Justice Chapman s court last Saturday before a jury of six, who found for the defendant. Plaintiff then filed suit against William Lamey to recover the remaining claims.

Miss Rose Keener daughter of Mr and Mrs Chas Keener of Base Line and J Allen Grissom of Carthage were married in Springfield last Wednesday evening Rev Moffet officiated. They returned to Carthage for their home and were greeted with warm congratulations from Jasper friends surprised by the marriage.

Fall Millinery Opening Saturday in East Jasper
Frank Gulick reported 11 Hereford cattle with 19 premiums and 7 firsts and 7 seconds at Crow Mercantile Co. in the east part of town. Mr. Robbins died suddenly at home after a long life, born in 1834 in Russell County Virginia, leaving seven children and multiple grandchildren. Funeral at Christian church with Rev. Requa officiating. Other items note debt settlements and a liquor sale case continued to September by Justice Chapman.
