Shelving Collapse Destroys Stock at Roberts Store Room
East Side shelving at R. L. Roberts & Son store broke loose shortly after opening on a Wednesday morning. The entire dry goods stock fell, scattering items across the floor and show cases, while the iron safe toppled and its door broke off. No glass was cracked in the adjacent display. Roberts had just moved in and organized the stock days earlier, and the incident caused delay and trouble for the day’s business.
