Jasper High Opens Basketball Season With New Team
Jasper High previews its fresh lineup next Saturday at the opera house in a charity game against Summit, featuring last year’s captain Orville Kyle at center for Summit and Jasper’s new center Judy Hatfield. Wreck at Rich Hill Delays Trains Injures Twenty
A collision between Missouri Pacific freight No 253 and passenger No 210 near Rich Hill last Saturday night delayed southbound trains for hours. About twenty people were injured, with several serious. Cause cited as crew order misunderstanding on the passenger train.

Aged Woman Letta Kirby Dies at 62 in Jasper
Mrs Letta Jane Kirby died last Thursday at the home of her nephew Weston Holmes in Jasper east end. Services at home led by Rev Kirk followed by burial at Dunkard cemetery beside her husband Geo W Kirby who died fifteen years ago. She was 63, a Kentucky native, resident of Jasper since 1891, Baptist for 70 years, and leaves no other relatives besides nephews. An unrelated sales notice for agents offers high weekly earnings from Frank W Williams Company in Chicago.

Jasper district carried off many honors including the largest delegation and the Carthage union the largest in the state. Mrs Kate F Newton received silver spoons for parliamentary drill work.
