Mrs Lucinda Jones wife of Aleck Jones died at her Jasper home on Thursday October 31 aged 77 years 2 months and 8 days Funeral was conducted by Rev J W Moore and music provided by a local choir She was born in Pennsylvania August 28 1841 Married Sept 13 1869 moved to Jasper County in 1889 They had one son Frank H Jones of Russell Kansas He was a long time resident of the area and survived by her husband and son

Influenza Cases Reported Across City and Nearby Areas
The past week saw new influenza cases in the city and surrounding areas including Claude Tabler and several others. Merritt Forsythe, a railroad brakeman, died after being crushed between two cars while coupling, with Mrs. H F Embree traveling to Centerville for the death. Mrs Embree had a brother who died similarly two years earlier.

Laura Ann Long was born near Jasper Missouri on August 10 1890 and died at her home near Froid Montana October 24 1918 at age 28 years 2 months and 14 days. She was laid to rest in Froid Cemetery October 25. Influenza led to pneumonia after illness began October 15. Survived by mother Mrs W A Wheeler two sisters Mrs B A Noland and Mrs Lester Wilboit one brother Geo L Long one step sister and her step father.

Mrs Keys Returns From Arkansas After Brother Dies
Mrs. Keys, Mrs. 3. G. Keys, returned home Monday from Van Buren Arkansas where her brother W. W. Ocker died last week. He was in the undertaking business and was buried in Van Buren. A Van Buren paper praised his winning personality and public spirit in the city. Floyd Largent Dies in France at nearly 24, son of J. A. Largent and wife, southeast of Jasper. He died of pneumonia in France October 6 after leaving Carthage June 6 with a military contingent. He had been in France about two months and his family shares in the loss with many friends.
