A Grand avenue scene last Tuesday mistook as a street fair shows Halloweenists removing property to celebrate the night. Vehicles and yard items were moved, gates torn, and soapy window inscriptions appeared, but overall damage was limited. Police presence is urged for next year.

Pumpkins Claim Cosmic Championship on One Vine
Dr Knott contends a lone pumpkin vine in his garden could win the universe pumpkin-raising title. The vine yielded twelve pumpkins totaling 445 pounds with a 52 pound largest and 39 and 20 pound smallest fruits. Six pumpkins weighing 275 pounds were shown at Crandall's store yesterday as rivals prepare to challenge the record.
