Strange 1779 United States Note Found by Maryland Man
A Maryland man named Barton Chaplain found a 1779 U S note between pages of an old book. The note, printed in black and red on white paper, promises forty dollars or equivalent in gold or silver and bears signatures Hall and Sell ere 1770. The discovery was made near Kirkham and the paper is largely preserved.
