Back from the Hospital After Foot Injury and Recovery
S. D. Chandler returned Monday from St. Joseph where he spent four weeks in hospital for foot gangrene after February cold. Doctors warned a day’s delay could be fatal. he now slowly recovers as treatment continues. Mrs. Carrie Rathburn, Boston school teacher, was re employed for the 1910-11 term after patrons surprised her with a dinner and board meeting granting a salary increase.

Alumni ceremony closes Jasper school year at large opera show
Commencement in Jasper drew a packed opera house as George Earl gave the salutatory and Miss Stella Thomas the valedictory among two notable addresses by Prof. Buchanan of Joplin and class musician Oma Webb. Alumni banquet at the Wells building drew nearly 150 guests with vocal and piano performances and an ensuing stage welcome for graduates. Photographer C. E. Keeling will work at the former Eckles studio in Jasper every Thursday morning.

Skating Rink Moves to Golden City This Week
The skating rink owners Long and Long relocate to Golden City on the 5th of the month with plans to open by Saturday. Charley Kiter man assists with setup and flips as locals anticipate a busy opening and possible return to Jasper in the fall for a month. Local youths plan frequent trips to Golden during the stay.

Mrs Geo File Dies After Long Illness
Mrs Geo File died Tuesday evening after a lengthy illness of consumption. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM this afternoon at Mt Carmel cemetery, 16 miles northeast, with burial following. She was 56, born in Bond county, Ill, moved to Jasper county over twenty years ago, then to Joplin for two years, and has lived here since six years ago. She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Mrs J O Persinger, with no son. A. H. Dray of Stockton, California, writes in Jasper News this week.
