Sudden Death of M Byers of Jasper Area
The sudden passing of M Byers formerly of Jasper was noted with limited details. A Wichita packing house foreman, he died instantly from a heart attack while en route to work. He left a widow and seven children, born 1866 in Lawrence County Indiana, who came to Missouri in boyhood with his parents. Funeral attended by J V Byers and wife, brother Jake Byers, sister Mrs Preston Roberts of Jasper, and Mr Cherry of Carthage. sister Mrs Elliott of Town was absent. Deceased had many regional friends who mourn his loss.

Boy sustains double arm fracture near Jasper
Five miles southeast of Jasper in the Dewey neighborhood, five year old Little Jewell Busby suffered a double fracture of the left arm after a fall. Dr Hendricks reduced the injuries and the boy is recovering as well as could be expected. A doctor called it one of the worst cases of its kind.
