Jasper Beats Lamar in triple game night at Lamar
Jasper High School boys and girls faced Lamar High School in three Friday games at Lamar. The first Jasper boys won 19 to 16, Lamar took the girls 19 to 11 after a 0 to 2 halftime edge for Lamar, and Jasper's second team dominated 28 to 11. About sixty Jasper supporters traveled, coaches praised courtesy, a Commercial Hotel supper was planned but skipped due to lateness. A street incident occurred but neither school was responsible. Lamar accompanied Jasper to the train and both sides parted on good terms.

Stolen Overcoat Recovered by Sheriff in Carthage
Innocent buyer paid 3 for a counterfeit cloak from a well dressed stranger who claimed to be broke. Marshal Doty retrieved the coat last Thursday from F. W. Wescott’s southwest home and arranged return to the owner as investigation traced the theft toward Carthage.

Little Girl Burned At Store Fire Incident
Cuba four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Hall suffered burns to the head and face when coals spilled at Hall and Wells store. A live coal stack and gas from the accident ignited by a lighted match caused a flame to shoot from the stove burning her hair and eyebrows.
