Couple Accused of Slaying Comma Officer Bound Over
E B Blanchard and Vida Blanchard were bound over to circuit court in Commerce Oklahoma on charges of murdering Marshal Charles Strecker. Eleven witnesses testified to link the couple to a Dodge car from which the fatal shot came and traced their alleged flight to Joplin Carthage and Nevada where they were arrested. Detective W B DeArmond aided the case.

Fraternity Installations At Masonic Lodge Halls
The Alasonic and Eastern Line Lodges held joint installation ceremonies at the Masonic Hall Tuesday evening of last week. Deputy Grand Master Robert Elliott of Carthage conducted the rites with Mrs. Hillott and Mrs. Grissom of Carthage assisting. Refreshments followed and social harmony marked the event. Jasper Rebekahs conducted their officer installation for the new term Tuesday evening with Mrs. White and others from Carthage presiding. Refreshments were served at the close.

The Thirty-first Infantry now back in San Francisco after over a year in Liberia. Cleo Haile, son of George W. Haile near Jasper, was in the unit and his father was told last Friday that he expected to be home around the middle of the week.
