John Waldron Dies in Joplin After Illness
John Waldron a Jasper county resident and Civil War veteran collapsed in Joplin after arriving with Morgan to discuss pensions. He died within minutes despite medical aid. Funeral services set for Monday at M E church with burial in the city cemetery. Waldron survived by his wife and relatives in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Missouri.

G H Fry Transfers to Sheldon as Head Salesman
G J Fry, head salesman for nearly two years with J D Barber, left Saturday night to take a similar post in Sheldon with his father-in-law J W Harbert who recently bought a general store there. Fry's wife died about a year ago, and their children have lived with relatives in Sheldon, a move that influenced his decision. Harbert and Harbert gain a neighbor and valued citizen in Fry, who is well regarded and will be missed.

J M Zinn returns to Jasper after two years in Colorado and Kansas City, planning a new merchandising venture. Previously he worked in the furniture business with G C Eckles, who recently sold to D W Teeter. Meanwhile Baptist church youths surprised Rev Deakins at the parsonage on New Year’s Eve with a spontaneous watch party and best wishes.

Miss Evelyn Thomson of Picassoton Khans visits with friends and relatives while recalling her past as a freshman. Mica Jessie Zine started school last Monday in the Junior class. The first drill was practiced Tuesday with a new study schedule guiding students to dismissal at Do’clonk. No basketball on spear court until revival meetings end. A few grades report ventilation issues since the meeting began. Judy has a black eye after the Liberal game.

Byers Farm Sold to invest in rail line lots
The Byers Farm, known as the Dyers farm nine miles northeast of Jaap and later occupied by Frank Sorbur, changed hands yesterday. Through a deal involving Mr. Fairfield and RK J Patoam the former owners gained twenty four building lots along the electric railroad and a sum of money, with Crane of Carthage as the buyer making the purchase an investment not for occupation.
