The ME Church Sunday School board met to elect officers for 1914 led by the pastor. Appointed officials include Arthur F. Drake as superintendent and J. R. Mrs Charley Ward and Mrs T B Hardaway hosted a festive social at Mrs Ward's home last Friday. Attendees included Taka Club members plus Mrs John Ward Mrs Hendricks Mrs WD Mallen and Mrs Ber Webb. Activities featured a candle-blowing blindfold challenge won by Mrs Spaid and Mrs Woods, a prize for Spaid, and progressive anagrams with Mrs John Marsh excelling. A consolation prize went to Mrs Deardorff a toy piano. A two course luncheon followed and a gift box of catams (cam tabs) was shared from Mel Ward’s California brother.

Taka Club Hosts Christmas Gift Exchange
The Taka Club gathered at Mrs Eli Scait’s home on Wednesday with Mrs Lear Mrs John Marsh and Mrs Spaid assisting. Guest Mrs H O Earl joined. Members exchanged neatly wrapped gifts in a new feature. A progressive anagrams game crowned Mr Hamburg with embroidery scissors as second prize. Delighted refreshments completed the enjoyable occasion.

A Lamar Christmas Eve Wedding Tale
A home wedding occurred in Lamar on Christmas Eve with Miss Claudia Bingham as the bride and Charles F. Brown as the groom. Relatives and a few friends attended as decor reflected the season. The ceremony took place at six with a weld ing march, under an arch, officiated by Rev. Brown. The bride wore a white duchess satin gown with brocaded velvet trim and rhinestones.
