Burglar Captured After Farmhouse Robbery Near Sheldon
City Marshal King and Frank Boots capture a suspect in a Sheldon area farm house robbery. Lew Gordon, of Colorado Springs, registered at the Jasper hotel and was arrested after a pursuit. The prisoner denied guilt but confessed later, leading to recovery of stolen watch chains. Sheriff Harkreader transported him to Nevada jail for custody.

Two Old Settlers Dead Follmer and Vestal Pass Away
Follmer a well known Zion neighbor farmer died Tuesday afternoon leaving a wife two daughters and a son. Funeral held at Zion church with interment at Mitchell graveyard. Nathan Vestal a veteran farmer six miles northeast of town died Thursday and was buried at Mt Carmel Friday. He was about eighty and had lived there over thirty years. Rev Palmer and household goods moved to Sarcasle where he will serve as pastor. Mrs Palmer and Goldin joined in a mop last Friday as friends hosted a surprise supper for the Palmers.

A fire at the Hardaway home on north First Street was detected around 4 30 yesterday. Jasper’s bucket brigade quickly fought the blaze which started from a spark on the roof and burned a large portion of the building. Damage is about 625, covered by insurance.
