The Taka club held its final meeting of the year at Mrs E Teeter Teeter's home. Members dressed eight dolls for a charity project and enjoyed a three course luncheon prepared by hostesses Mrs Teeter Mrs Scott Mrs Spaid and Mrs Thomas. A holly song was the holiday favor. The next gathering is planned for January at Mrs Woods's new home.

The Post Office Department asks the public to use special parcels post stamps on all parcels post packages and not ordinary postage stamps. It notes that parcels post applies only to fourth class matter like merchandise and advises inquiries at local post offices for full information to avoid inconvenience.

Mrs Catherine Clouser, a Jasper County pioneer, died at 70 plus, surrounded by family at son W H Clouser’s home. funeral held at Mitchell Cemetery led by Rev W Sample. Surviving children include H., John, E F Clouser, A L Thomas, with one son in New Mexico unlocated. Mrs Cornelia Bradshaw, died in Kansas City, buried at Baker Cemetery after joining Christian Church 47 years ago. survivors include daughter Mrs Luther Hamrick and four sons.

Four lodges of the Anti-Horse Thief Association held a joint meeting at Hammond's Hall in Jasper last Thursday night. Thirteen new members were initiated into the order, and an oyster supper followed. Attendees from Carthage, Caryotown, Blooming, Peasant Hill and nearby areas joined the event, with speeches praising the organization’s work and history.
