The Inlumim Parve Society produced its best program of the year on Friday with a debate on agriculture versus history, a Grace Teeter reading, and Dan Magers’ My latest adventures. The public is invited to a joint program on December 24, and students note that outside interest will boost spirits. Juniors wrote excellent themes on The trials of a Junior. M. L. Arner purchased the barber shop of WD Mullen in Jasper. Known as Lank, the barber has many local friends and will likely fare well. The shop has recently been refurnished with an up to date outfit. Mullen has not announced future plans.
Judge J C Rosa of Purcell named administrator of the R R Larrick estate. He asks all who are indebted to the estate to communicate with him. Also notes Christmas gift idea items from local shops, including Community silver tea spoons at Dr Schooler and Star Brood Shoes.
While cutting timber last Wednesday Harry Hille was run by an axe strike that opened a long gash to the bone on the top of his left foot. Four stitches closed the wound and he is healing on crutches for a week or more.
Mrs. Iva L. Tiller administratrix of the Mack Tiller estate will hold a sale at the Tiller place six miles south and four miles east of Jasper on Monday December 22. The sale includes a head of horses and mules eight head of cattle twenty five head of hogs some sheep and many farm implements etc.
Arrangements have been under way in different parts of the county to form an organization of Jasper county dairy cattle men. Meetings at Jasper and Sarcoxie show considerable interest and a Carthage meeting is planned for January 3 per a letter from State Dairy Commissioner Bennett. Further notices will follow.
