It references American School Shoes, Mayflower coffee, Superior King Bee Hot Blast stoves, patent medicines, and household items like blankets and a Henney wagon, all framed with rustic, nostalgic tone. The piece blends product pitches with light moral reflections and domestic imagery.
Nupitals of J Edward Miciner and Miss Ella Crandall were united in a ceremony at the bride’s home on Thanksgiving Day, with relatives from out of town attending. The couple will reside in Jasper area, where both families are known locals. Also reported is the death of Mrs Mary E Shepard in Jasper after pneumonia and heart trouble, age 60, funeral at Presbyterian church and burial in Low City cemetery. Surviving are husband Andrew Shepard and siblings Mrs Jon Walte and Ave A E Shepard with distant relatives in Michigan.
The Marks Bros clothing firm, which ran a temporary store here for weeks, has moved its stock to Caringe to consolidate with another clothing store there. The Jasper venture was not a success, and the removal shifts the business to new location.
The Zion W. T. U adopted unanimously a resolution on November 30 pledging support to business owners who keep liquor out of Jasper. They rejoice over the elimination of whiskey sales and vow moral and faithful backing to compliant merchants.
Congressman Hackney reports increased pensions during the week ending November 30. Names include John Winkelblock of Joplin eight teen dollars, Wm Allison of West City twelve dollars, De wit Clinton Allen of Chitwood twelve dollars, Robert F. Dilworth of Joplin twelve dollars, Jacob Fancher of Oronogo sixteen dollars, and Henry Digby of Joplin sixteen dollars.
Card of thanks extends heartfelt gratitude to friends who conveyed sympathy and support after a bereavement. A Suzpaup and Children express appreciation for kindness during a difficult time.
A three week revival at Blur Schoolhouse closed with 17 baptisms on Sunday and 75 conversions. Rev. Clevinger inspired wide attendance and two longtime resisters opened to salvation. Subscriptions for a new church reached 325 dollars as grateful supporters honored the pastor. Majestic Range demonstrations drew crowds at Wolf Hardware Co. The notice also lists a Jasper County boy, D. Howard Doane, winning top honors in a national livestock judging contest with multiple college teammates and scholarships totaling a thousand dollars.

Supt. Moon Misaes Stella Covert Mas Sanford and Mary Curtis returned from Springfield where Jasper high school was represented in the annual two day session of the Southwest Missouri teachers association. Misa Curtis performed well in the oratorical contest as Ralph Besse of Carthage won first place and Miss Gertrude Parr of Pierce City shared top honors earning gold watches. Besse also won the Chaplain gold medal with ease, a prize last held by a boy in 1898.
