A garbled advert proclaims the family pride Hen eggs as payment for a wide range of goods. It touts Dring stock discounts, hardware brands, wagons, plows, sulkies, discs and farm implements and invites exchange of hen eggs for items, promising first class order and value.
Big preparations for the Jasper county Sunday School Association convention to be held at the MoR Church next week. The opening Monday night features an address by Dr T W Frey of Carthage. Delegates totaling about one hundred fifty are expected. Local entertainment plans include lodging meals and campus-style hospitality coordinated by churches and volunteers.
A public open meeting will be held Friday night August 2 at the Jasper area to view the progress of a lode project and a portion of the work will be demonstrated in the stage room. Admission is fifteen cents in copper. A separate article reports a near-fatal accident at the Jasper Elevator when a crank wagon overturned injuring Earnest Crawfont, with several feet of injury from a shifting load. Public sale notices advertise farmer Wright’s sale on Thursday, August 93, featuring horses and farm implements. items include a list of cattle, tools, and miscellaneous goods.
