John Lowe son of Dave Lowe and wife returned home Friday from Spruce Camp Vancouver Washington where he served six months in the Spruce Division and spent most of the last five months in hospital with rheumatism and pneumonia. He was discharged for physical disability due to illness.
Airdome hosts Pageant of Liberty on Monday night August 5 presented by Junior League Epworth. Scenes include First Americans Pilgrim Family New England Days The Spirit of 76 Declaration of Independence After the Revolution War of 1812 Civil War The North and South Motto Tableau America. Admission 10 and 20 cents.

Johnston chased the train by fast car after his watch stopped, a dramatic escape that local sentiment ties to the spirit of Uncle Sam’s fighting men.
Carthage exemption board called 32 men for today’s examination with Floyd Meador and Philip Campbell of route 6 and Floyd McClintock and Wm Keeper of route 1 among those listed.
