Flood Worries Ease as Streams Recede After Wet Week
Flood fears eased as streams rose four to five feet and receded quickly after a week of heavy rain. North Fork surged briefly while Coon Creek showed a ten foot rise feared then exaggeratedly, farmers delayed fieldwork with little corn planted and planting prospects improving if no further damage occurs. Farmers faced paddled bottoms and frost worries, but fruit crops look above average for the season. The Loughead Studio advertises cheap folder covers and local seed varieties near Jasper.

Call for Democratic Convention in Jasper County Missouri
The Jasper County Democratic Central Committee calls a delegate convention in Webb City Missouri on May 1 1907 at 10 a.m. to select twenty delegates for the state convention at Jefferson City May 20 1908 and to handle other business. Representation is by one delegate for every fifteen votes for Silas Woodson precincts listed with numerous Webb City wards Joplin wards and other towns. Primaries for delegate selection set for May 2 at 8 p.m. Precinct chairmen will arrange and announce details. John T. Livingston chairman Attest Bert Johnson acting secretary April 23 1907.
