Local Cranes Spotted On North Fork In Tall Native Fowl Sighting
A tall wild crane near North Fork was observed Sunday by Fred Crandall who brought one bound bird with him. The bird stood about five feet two inches and had a six foot wingspan, sparking talk of the rare find. Fred was unarmed at first and borrowed a shotgun to help trap the bird, while locals noted its peculiar features and described the unusual event at length.

A Pretty Country Wedding for Crow and Redmon Daughter
J Prank Crow married Miss Sarah Pell Redmon at the Redmond home near Jasper in a four o’clock ceremony conducted by Rev W O Thomsen. A three course supper followed with pink and white decor and a marquisette dress adornment. The bride, a Jasper High School graduate of 1908 and rural teacher, will reside with the groom on North Main Street in Jasper.

Jasper Public Schools Elect Three Teachers and Monitors
The Jasper board elected three teachers and three monitors for the rere faculty at Monday night’s meeting. Alma Seinen was reelected for seventh and eighth grades, Nellie Crow chosen for grades 4 and 5, Grace Bowers leaving her post, and Mrs G W Rex assigned to primary grades. The superintendency principalship and fifth grade instructor roles were not filled, with incumbents A R Harris C M Leedy and Miss Crow not seeking reelection. Jared A Wilson, then superintendent in 1909-10, was an applicant for the top job.
