Lamar voters are urged to approve a road bond to build a rock road system linking seven main approaches to Lamar. A levy of one tenth of a cent would fund interest and debt repayment over 15 years. State Engineer Curtis Hill will conduct meetings to explain the proposal before the election likely late April.
Miss Ines Little and Mr. Fred Earl wed at the Carthage Presbyterian parsonage with Rev. J D McCoughtry officiating. Miss Little, daughter of Isaac Thompson, is valued at the central phone office. Earl is a popular Jasper County farmer. The couple will live on a farm along the base line southeast of Jasper on Route 5, witnessed by Chauncey Earl and Miss Lida Teeter.
At the Jasper precinct meeting last Friday night C S Ward WC Thomas Omer Webb Bert Crandall and Homer Bayne were elected to represent the precinct at the county convention in Carthage. Dr Hendricks was elected chairman. W C Thomas Jr secretary. Delegates voted 21 to 5 for Roosevelt instruction.
A customer in Blodgett Missouri reports receipt of eight hens and a cockerel on March 31 and expresses satisfaction. On April 1 seven eggs from the hens were gathered, and a pullet hatched from last season’s eggs laid 65 eyes in 67 days and continues laying.
