Philadelphia June 7 Special Orders issued to four Pennsylvania National Guard regiments to be ready for instant service in the coal regions if needed. Muster 4 500 men. Armories hold transport readiness. Riot headlines include strikes in Wilkes Barre and attacks on non union workers. Washington June 7 The Navy Department reports the court of inquiry on the cruiser Chicago's officers and men in Venice. Philadelphia scene on Sixteenth street reports a trolley car crashing into another, throwing a lancer from the rake and injuring sixteen people including many women. Several seriously hurt and expected to die. In St Louis a Missouri Pacific train collided with a suburban electric car, about twenty injured with five may die.

In a harbor collision this morning between the whale boat Wilson and the steamer Hadley at Duluth eight of the former crew were killed. Kaimer Bullard of Evansville visited the city yesterday.

London June 7 Birmingham Post reports the British government due to age and infirmities waives its claim for Kruger to acknowledge British sovereignty over the Transvaal and guarantees Boer delegates safe conduct home. Dispatch from Pretoria states 1,164 Boers laid down arms yesterday with no hitches. War office cabled congratulations to Lord Kitchener for energy patience and humanity in the campaign.
