Aspen Ridge Roundup Seeks News of Local Moves

Special forest ranger Maris spent a few days on the Ridge at the start of the week. Pearl Nichols visits friends near Jackson. Willame rested there while coming from Crystal Creek, and Johnny Kneedy is home from his Lake work. Mrs. ff B Maris and son returned to Jackson after visiting Rev and Mrs Baxter. T A Wallace stayed overnight at Valley View enroute to the upper Hole. Elk herds moved to hills due to good weather, leaving hunters to chase meat with effort.

Thanksgiving Services Schedule at St John and Baptist Churches

On Thanksgiving Day November 2 at ten o clock a Holy Communion service will be held at St John Church. At eleven A M a Thanksgiving service with sermon by Rev Balcom will be conducted at the Baptist church. All invited to give thanks for the year’s harvest and blessings. Also notes of local residents visiting Jackson and area events including property purchases near Spike River and travels of several families.

Steve Mahoney killed at the Lake Dam accident

A fatal accident at the Lake Dam occurred Wednesday morning when Steve Mahoney, foreman on the reclamation project, was crushed between a belt and wheel of a 75 horsepower pump. He died at two o clock the same afternoon after emergency crews transported him toward Albion Idaho for burial. Mahoney was a respected foreman with wide ties across the valley.

Mrs Gilbert Melnelly and Jim were in Jackson Wednesday forenoon. Miss Doris Coffin has been visiting in Jackson the past week. Thanksgiving fruitcakes for sale by Reed Grocery & Meat Co. Ray Ely began building a stew house and barn in the valley. Oats at 1.00 per bushel. James & Simpson go to town on business. About 12 000 bushels of grain were harvested, a 10 000 deficit from last year. Jacob Johnson and wife left for Oden Utah to attend the funeral of Mire Johnson's father in London. A new baby girl born to Mrs Fred Klarer of Los Angeles. Gilmner riding the range for cattle. Special Election Notice And Town Council Elections

Notice for a special election to elect a mayor or and four councilmen in the newly incorporated town of Jackson Wyoming Lincoln County. The election is set for November 28, 1904 in Jackson for the local government formation. George Bewin and Reed Grocery & Meat Co appear in local notices. Grand Junction Colorado birth update mentions Mr. Blain becoming a grandfather.

Changes in School Schedule Next Week At District School

Attendance weakened by many away for Thanksgiving. Miss Mary McKean returns after illness. Beginning December 1 the day ends at 4 with one noon hour. recesses omitted due to weather. A short Thanksgiving program by lower rooms Wednesday evening. No school Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving holiday. Friday and Saturday for teachers’ examinations at the school building.
