Keep Him Reasonably Busy In A New Jersey Camp
A preacher serving in a hut at a New Jersey camp describes his wide range of duties. He has cleaned, cooked, supervised laundry, umpired basketball, organized activities, sold ice cream, and driven miles for supplies. He aided boys with letters, taught lessons in a playful language, cared for heart surrections, and handled Liberty bonds for many at once. One surprising duty involved guarding a box of detonators overnight during a perilous April night when a military box arrived at the Y. The box contained high explosives that could destroy half the region if mishandled, yet he kept watch over it.
