The Wittens, Beagle, Mrs Smith, Marjorie, Pearl Nichols and Baxter group fished at Gros Ventre canyon last Thursday catching trout and enjoying the outing.

Bishop Thomas Visits Jackson and Grovent Services

Rt Rev NS Thomas of Wyoting arrived in Jackson last Friday and stayed until Sunday afternoon. He conducted a service at St John’s in Grovent and praised Rev Hawley’s valley work, noting only a new call would have moved him. A new pastor, Rev Royal H Balcom of Tevington NY, is expected to arrive in late September for St John’s.

Horses Stolen From Camp Near Stide Lake

Roy McBride reports eight horses were stolen from his Stide Lake camp last week. Six were found hung in a dead stitter area. two tracks led away in opposite directions. One horse was trained by Melirkle, the other had long ranch ties. Jane, Mrs. McBride’s saddle horse, and another strong driving horse were among the missing. A $650 reward is offered for their return. Descriptions: strong 1200 pound, 7 years, branded Spartan on thigh, worn brand. sorrel 1200 pounds, saddle and collar marks, small white hip spot, Hatchet brand, 7 years.
