Hotel Management Will Change Again

Mr and Mrs T B Estes who ran Hotel Jackson for over six years are giving up their lease and plan to move east. L J Parry of Denver is reported to have leased the property and will bring his family to the valley in about ten days. Parry is known in Jackman’s Hole for wholesale dairy interests in Denver. Dr and Mrs L J Moreton returned from Moran where he did dental work. W J Kelly of Viator and H Rosenbaum of Ogden bought about 150 head of cattle for shipment. J P Sisopeen was reported recovering in San Diego from sickness. Mrs W P Redmond and F S Bimpeon of Jackson expect to return home next week. Mrs M D Meeks left for Detroit for a few weeks.

Hospital Enlargement Begun at St John’s in Jackson

A force of men is laying the concrete foundation for an enlarged St John’s hospital in Jackson. The addition will add a front wing on each side with two rooms per wing, creating six patient rooms overall. The plan includes a north south hall, stairways, enlarged operating room, and added laboratory. New Delco lighting and steam heating systems, plumbing, and other equipment are set for installation, with an estimated cost of 910,000 funded by D. E. Skinner of Elk Ranch Co. ir. and Mrs Frank Shawback guest in town this week. Mrs Maude Lovejoy, recently ill with tonsillitis, could not resume duties. Mrs Shawback remained working, and Mrs Bosrdman filled in. L. Dodge returned to his Wilson area ranch. Otho E Williams showed slight improvement.

Back From France William Francia Returns Home From War

William Francia came home to Jackson last Friday as the sixth Jackson Hole boy to return from service. He joined the fray during the last two weeks before discharge but escaped injury. He arrived looking well and was warmly greeted by family and friends. He was met by his father J A Francia and taken to the family home nine miles northwest of town.

New Plan Advanced For Saving Elk

W P Redmond a Jackson Hole stockman proposes a practical elk saving plan. He suggests government supplied steel shoes and a corral with a shop on the federal ranch east of Jackson to fit elk with footwear. Plan awaits Chief Forester Graves review and may gain support from Outdoor Life and eastern sports clubs.

Health trip ends with surgery advised for Mrs Baxter

Mrs H Baxter and Mrs E A Staho returned from Idaho Falls where specialists advised that only a surgical operation would benefit her. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Tomi Perry of Grovant at the Gaturday. Carl Bark, home from service, returned to Jackson and resumed work at Jackson State Bank after a family visit at Aspen Ridge and Kelly.

Lincoln County Proclaims Special Election on Highway Bonds

Lincoln County commissioners announce a special election for April 2 in all precincts to decide on issuing two million eight hundred thousand dollars in highway bonds. The measure allows bonds up to five hundred to ten thousand dollars, redeemable after ten years and payable in twenty, with interest not exceeding five percent. The proclamation bears signatures of D H Scott chair and commissioners Morrow Jenkins.

Beavers Restricted by State Game Laws Through March First

New game laws prohibit killing or trapping beaver before March 1, with exceptions for property damage. Property owners may kill beaver damaging real estate without a permit, then file an affidavit detailing the premises and exact number killed. After approval, the Game Warden issues tags to cover each hide listed in the affidavit.

Bond Issue For Highway Tax Plan Proposed

The Courer Carrion outlines a special election on 22nd of the month to decide if the state should issue twenty year highway bonds at up to five percent interest. It notes federal matching funds and 75 percent county spend rule, estimates local benefits in Lincoln County, and explains a proposed auto tax of 40 cents per horsepower for 1920 21 and 22 to fund the bonds, projecting $3 000 000 in a decade.

Ralph Wilson Cheney born August 18 1882 Emery County Utah died March 27 1919 Jackson Wyoming at age 37. He moved to Jackson Hole at age seven and lived there until death. He married Mae L Sanborn May 29 191? to have two children Ralph Sanborn and Mae Tree. Survived by parents four brothers and one sister. Funeral services held March 20 in South Park cemetery.
