Local firms attach on Bridge Company in Iowa county
The Northwestern Bridge & Iron Co of Milwaukee, contractor for the road bridge near Hurstville to Dubuque county line, had six local firms place attachments on their machinery. Sheriff Dellager served papers and guards were stationed. The incident followed a payroll dispute, with A A Hurst arranging payments to about 34700 owed to workers, some of whom faced board and lodging debts. The local creditors’ meeting listed firms filing claims, and the bonding company may cover the bid deficit.
