Pick Seed Corn This Year in Iowa
Iowa farmers are advised by the state college agriculture department to harvest seed corn early before frost. Even well dried ears hold moisture and should be stored quickly in a ventilated room. A seed corn cart, made cheaply from a crate on iron wheels, aids picking and yields about two bushels, ensuring high vitality and early maturing seed for next season.
