Ditch Survey Marks Start of Jackson County Project
Louis H. Lampe and assistant John Schroeder completed survey work for the first drift axe ditch to be cut in Jackson county at Green Island. The three mile drainage project aims to prevent flooding in Green Island bottom during heavy rains. Oswald son of P Sprank of Lamotte underwent surgery at Moulton hospital Friday for a large bone tumor on the thigh. James Gross bought the Bellevue Ice Company ice and coal business including buildings and equipment from J J Heirgrove for 7500 and will take possession this fall.
