St Louis Depot and a buoyant market outlook
Southeast Notes Essex plans a new Iron Mountain depot as groundwork begins with material in place. The fall business opens in St. Louis with promises of a prosperous year as buyers reinforce and retail sales rise. The city’s central position, large stock, and low freight costs attract merchants and buyers seeking value. The report highlights a favorable bank clearings trend, strong St. Louis manufacturing ties, and a bright crop outlook with ample money to keep goods moving.
