Bachelor club misadventure ends in curtain pole scare
Willie Wessel Louis Schmidt and Alvin Meijer formed a bachelor club last week. Returning home they found a shut ter open and mistook curtain poles for a burglar. Wessel chased it with a 44 caliber pistol while Alvin and Louis armed with a SS cal revolver and a lamp and club respectively searched rooms. They barricaded doors and slept poorly. Gus Goyert tells the tale, urging a chaperon.
