Health is good. Farmers are nearly finished gathering corn. Monday was turkey day at Daisy. Mr. Rhyne from Hilderbrand visited Daisy Monday. Dentist D F Sadler was here busy all day. Our blacksmith, busy since his brother married and moved to the farm, is skilled but unclear about farming, though he works under a good boss.
Rev. Joseph Jamison spoke at the courthouse Monday night on living life anew. He praised parents country and woman, blamed no one for sins, and urged using past failures as stepping stones. He stressed grace, personal effort, and the availability of opportunities and divine help.

Henry Putz of Pocahontas trapped a carrier pigeon on Saturday. Examination revealed a silver band on the right leg marked 1167 and T. Y. initials, and a brass band on the left leg with the S. S. initials inside. The bird is dark blue in color.
