Republican Victory Across States and Election Speculation
Last Tuesday a Republican win occurred as New York City voted Republican by about 80,000. Several states including Ohio, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Jersey and Rhode Island followed suit, while Virginia, Mississippi and Kentucky swung Democratic by smaller margins. Rumors say no Democratic daily will start at the Cape. Pan-American exposition closed with a loss of 85,400,000. Roosevelt opposes trusts and will state his position in Congress. Kentucky editor Hisky Warrion may seek governor as Watterson backed Bryan in 1900. If Democrats nominate Prof. N L B Henry and Republicans nominate Prof. W H Lynch for state superintendent, the favorite Southeast Missouri train will fill the office regardless of outcome.

Cold Bath Advice From Luties Home Journal
The article notes the cold bath in the morning is less popular due to energy waste and low cleansing effect. It suggests hot water stimulates nerves and is more desirable, with brief immersion and a brisk rub. Some prefer a cool sponge bath ending in warmth and well being, while bath routines vary by individual strength.
