Climate and Crop Bulletin for November 1901 Missouri

The pleasant October weather continued in November 1901 with sharp frosts but no severe freezes. Mean temperatures held near normal. precipitation was deficient in most counties, heavier rains in southern areas reaching 2 to 4 inches locally. Wheat growth varied, good in the west, retarded and poor in central and east due to dryness. some districts pastured, worm and fly damage noted. Corn largely in shock but in good condition where not worm-affected. much corn shredded. Cotton picking nearly finished in the southeast. Fall pastures provided fair feed in some western and southern areas but were poor overall. stock water improved in the south but scarce elsewhere. Much ground readiness for plowing, though hard soil limited work. A. H. Hackett, Section Director.
