Miss P. H. Robinson and family Mrs J A Robertson and children and Miss Mary Scruggs enjoyed several hours last Sunday at Ad Sulphy Springs. Frank Smith and family attended Sunday School at Poplar Springs. A Lady Preacher will start a week of meetings at Poplar Springs next Sunday night with everyone invited.
The Tishomingo County Union meets with Spring Hill Local six miles southwest of Iuka on October 13 and 14. Locals urged to elect a full delegation as county officers will be nominated. All local secretaries to file complete reports six days prior. P. H. Robinson, county secretary.
In Highland a local letter notes busy cotton picking and a growing Sunday school now on 76 on roll with more joining each Sunday. The church elected Rev. A M Nix as pastor for next year after a successful protracted meeting, while Reece Bickerstaff returns to university work. Messia J B McRae and J R Bickerstaff plan a trip to the Memphis fair next week amid Baptist Association plans near Sunville.
In Tishomingo on September 18, 1922 residents report good health, cotton picking, and road work. Austin Bremer narrowly avoids injury at Placing Mill. John Page contributes 1000 dollars for a local road funded partly by subscription. Local names include Ben Southward, Tom Blow, Bryan Carroll, Marshall Murphy, and Frank Hodgins. The note ends with plans to purchase Stewed Baker if reconciliation with a girlfriend succeeds.
From Tishomingo MS Sept 25 1922 the Vidette reports the parent teacher association met at the school house to plan school improvements entertainments and a better school week in October. A H S football tied Fulton at Fulton with a rematch set in Tishomingo October 30 at 2 20. Mr and Mrs J C Finger of Barnaville visited their daughter Louise a senior student.
The Fourth Quarterly Conference schedule lists meetings at Tishomingo Court Paradise on Oct. 4, Golden Court Dennis on Oct. 5, Barnesville Burnsville on Oct. 13, Tuka Court Mt. Evergreen on Oct. 14, Iuka Station with preaching Sunday night Oct. 15, and quarterly session at 9 o'clock Monday Oct. 16. Attendance and district reports requested. preaching at 11 a.m. each day. Quarterly Conference follows dinner on each circuit.
