Farmers lead hog and poultry coop plan from Tennessee to Tishomingo
A letter from W A Owen of Fayette County Tennessee describes joint farming efforts that boosted hogs cattle sheep goats and chickens sales and profits. He cites cooperative selling in March with $30,000 in livestock shipments and price gains up to 28 cents for hogs, 24 cents for hens, and 35 cents for fryers. He urges Tishomingo to imitate the model and notes successful car shipments and broad farmer participation. The piece also contrasts postwar policy debates in Washington and a Portland newspaper take on stalled League Covenant and postwar sanity.
