Mrs. E Merrill Dies After Accident Related Illness
Mrs. E Merrill died Friday morning after weeks of declining health following an accident. A devout Christian, she leaves a husband four daughters and one son. Funeral at Presbyterian church Saturday with Rev. H. M. Jenkins. burial in Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs Mattie Williams Hirsch visited Luka before joining husband to Cherokee.

Revival at Cook's Chapel Brings 40 Professions in Jacinto Miss
A rain from Iuka to county line cooled the air but arrived too late for crops. Ed Vinerre reports a revival at Cook's Chapel near Jacinto led by Rev. W. A. Gaugh resulting in 40 professions and 41 baptisms plus 2 by letter. The preacher, 32, trained at Union University and Mrs Hobson's school, emphasizes simple truth over eloquence. He guides converts to join the church immediately.
