Home Economics Club Social Night and Local Notes
Mrs D W Paden hosted the Home Economics Club for a social evening honoring cousins Misses Mary and Elizabeth Greene of Booneville on Wednesday, August 25. Punch served by Miss Edith Davenport, no business held, experiences shared, Aileen Davenport performed piano selections, ice course served. Local residents and visitors noted include Miss Bernice Bostick and Esther Mink, with travels to Tishomingo and Winfield, plus various farm and community updates. Several attendees joined the Soldiers' Reunion at Bay Springs, Ridge Church closed its protracted meeting led by Revs P T Keeton and Thomas, and others visited relatives in Bolivar, Ripley, Corinth, and Iuka.

Storm Victim Buried In Galveston Storm Aftermath
The remains of Walter Williams wireless operator killed when a brick building collapsed during the Galveston storm arrived last Tuesday. Age 28, he enlisted in 1907 and was the son of the late Walter Williams of Rienzi. Survived by five sisters and two brothers and many relatives in Memphis Corinth Rienzi and nearby areas. Funeral services were at Dr D T Price’s residence at 4 pm, burial at Booneville cemetery with Regimental Band playing.
