A Ardmore Oklahoma note recounts a devastating 1915 gas tank explosion that leveled parts of the town. Rescue efforts followed as fire and police tackled burning buildings, with many injured or killed and a relief fund rising to support victims.
Mrs O C Moor opened her new home to the Home Economics Club for the last meeting. The parlor featured golden red decor with ferns and a punch bowl display by Miss Ernestine Nash. After business, Mrs J B Ray and Miss Ruth Looney offered vocal selections, Louise Reynolds and the Misses White contributed instrumental and vocal numbers, followed by a dainty ice course. Mrs J B Ray was guest of the club. Tishomingo.
Health reports show general well being with a few colds. Miss Goldie Howell injured her ankle last Monday. Farmers near completion of the 1915 harvest. Luther Bumpass traveled to Huntsville recently. Mr and Mrs D W Willis visited Sunday. Miss Lula Wilson and sister visited Miss Ethel Pardue. Milton Pardue will soon enter New Site High School. Dee Pardue seen en route to Prentiss County. Jack Frost paid a call last Saturday. Jim Stricklin visited Tishomingo last Sunday. Some One's Darling.
A meeting of the Tishomingo County Teachers Association is called for Saturday October 30 in Iuka. No fixed program. several school matters will be discussed. Contracts will be issued at this session. N L Phillips acting president. This Oct 11 1915.
