Germans Surrender to U S Troops Under Truce Flag

London correspondent reports a 50 German soldiers surrendered under a flag of truce after attacking American lines northwest of Chateau Thierry. Despite fierce bombardment and local assaults at Bouresches and Belieu wood, German forces left many dead wounded and prisoners. Soldier boy writes home from Camp Merritt in 1918

The National War Savings Committee calls for June 28 as National War Savings Day, urging all ages to pledge to save and buy War Savings Stamps.
