The Vidette announces a weekly publication and rates for ads and notices. A wartime note from the Kniting Club dated February 20 1918 requests help to prepare yarns into socks and sweat hampers for shipment by March 1, 1918.
The United States Food Administration bans Licensees from buying shipping or selling live or freshly killed hens or pullets between February 11 and April 30 1918. An exception allows transactions for hens or pullets already killed or shipped before February 11 and those kept for egg production. Effective February 11 1918.
Newsbriefs record visits by Prof. W. R. Nettles and H. C. Long to the Iuka teachers meeting, and Miss Katie Lou Hollandsworth with brother Lawrence in Jacinto. Sgt. John T. Flahiff will speak at TAHS auditorium on war themes next Saturday. District agent Miss Victoria Hill visits Feb. 25, with several residents traveling or ill but improving.

Sergeant Jofyr T. Plnhiff, an American veteran of the Canadian expeditionary force, clears the Redpath Bureau to lecture here about the war. He describes trench life, over the top charges, and roles as bomber mineliner gate keeper and stretcher bearer while displaying gas masks and weapons. Vicksburg Mississippi February 16 1918 notice directs to limit sugar and flour sales to specified weights for urban and rural customers. Prohibits advertising encouraging increased purchases during the national crisis. Flour to be sold only at whole sale and retail with normal profit. Also a separate note from L A McKrows declining pastoral calls due to workload.
The advertisement claims Stella Vitae has been successfully used for over a third of a century with a ten year guarantee. It cites a customer letter from E. H. Russell of Mill Springs NC praising the medicine after heart palpitations and weight gain improved from 108 to 135 pounds. The note touts benefits for teens, childbirth, and menopause, and lists J C Jourdan's Drug Store Luka Missouri as a seller with a money back guarantee.
