A contest runs from September 1, 1910, through February 1, 1911, to determine who shall own the instrument in fee simple. The Vidette promotes the event as a public popularity drive supporting the purchase and ownership of the piano.
Rules outline nomination by friends for Tishomingo County Mississippi contestants, with 1000 votes per nominating ballot and one ballot per candidate. Voting uses cents for subscriptions and goods, with ballots issued via the Vivette paper and merchant coupons. Ballot counting occurs weekly. ties by lot. Contest requires white ladies, married or single.
A number of suits against the IC Rail Road named Ala and Miss railroad were filed in the recent term of court, while no cave against the Southern was noted. Rev Joe Randolph of Tuka, en route to Dumas for a quarterly meeting for Rev Jaco, visited the office Saturday morning and was recognized as a leading preacher in north Mississippi.

Farmers discuss tying bundles of fresh ties delivered near the railroad, inspected by H. S. Massey & Son and paid in money or goods. The activity provides employment for many idle workers and sustains local commerce. random notes mention Crosswaite, Springs Hotel, and a sketch project.
