Reunion plan and conventions noted by U D G Chapter
The U D G Chapter met with Mrs. W P Bolding and unanimously decided to send at least one old Confederate veteran to the Memphis reunion with all expenses paid. Mrs. J A E Pye was chosen as gate to the State Convention in West Point May 4 5 6 1909, with Mrs. Granville Dudley as alternate. Refreshments were served by the hostess and Mrs. G D Hall.

Fire Alarm Saves Leath erwood Hotel From Major Blaze
A fire at 10 30 p m Monday in the west end of the Leath erwood Hotel started from a pile of floor cleansing material but was checked quickly as first responders acted. Strong winds and dry conditions threatened nearby structures, yet the flames were contained before spreading to adjacent buildings.
